Thanks for choosing to take the time to visit my site! I am a copy editor living in D.C., a city I’ve come to love a lot in the last four years. I love music, my cat, hiking, reading and exploring new places. I think it’s hard to describe myself in a few paragraphs, so I tend to tell people I’m a grandma: I love to bake and take care of others. It’s what I thrive doing!
And a couple years ago, I decided to pursue a career in policy reporting, but I still loved arts and food writing that I was introduced to mostly at Washingtonian Magazine. So, to fill the gap that covering Capitol Hill can leave, I created this monthly newsletter!
The Sunday Roast is an amalgamation of all my loves: cooking, baking, food, learning and writing. Each month, I interview a subject about a recipe they hold close to their heart, then I recount my attempt to recreate their food and drink. In the end, I get to touch people’s hearts with others’ stories while doing what I love: cooking (and laughing at my mistakes along the way.)
